Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born March 26, 1991, often referred to professionally by the name Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and was the first female to be signed for J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. In October 2016, Ari Lennox released her EP Pho. The EP was where she gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut album, was released on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox first uploaded her music on the internet in 2012. She released her debut album Ariography and debut mixtape in 2013, five Finger Discount. Ari Lennox continued to upload her tracks online through 2014 and released her own single Bound. On 21st of July 2015. Omen was featured on Elephant Eyes song"Sweat it Out.. J. Cole was interested in her talent and wanted to use it in conjunction with Rihanna. On December 8 it was revealed that she had contracted to Dreamville Records. Backseat is one of the songs she recorded with Cozz for the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II. On October 21, 2016 her Pho EP was released. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change, and she performed in her own 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as an opening artist. The year 2018 saw Ari Lennox performed on two tracks featuring EarthGang and EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, and Bas, on Icarus. On July 16 2018 Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream on her first album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video, which was released on September 5. On the 9th of November she dropped two more singles: the 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. Two more singles were released by her on 11/13 Pedigree and No One. Then she appeared in the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track entitled Shea Butter Baby on November 16 and released as a single on February 26 2019 for her debut album the same name. A music video was released on 20 February 2019 to go along with the track. Within the first time, it was viewed more than 3,000,000 views. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK during their From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
